Let’s talk about something that just grinds my gears: toxic positivity.
You know the type—the “just think happy thoughts” approach that makes it seem like a forced smile can fix all your problems.
Let’s be real: that stuff might look good on Instagram, but it’s not what gets you to the top in this business.
Toxic positivity is for losers.
Yeah, I said that.
Real growth doesn’t come from pretending everything’s fine; it comes from facing challenges head-on and learning to thrive in discomfort.
If you want to make real moves in your career, you’ve got to ditch the sugar-coated mindset and get down to the raw, unfiltered truth.
For way too long, I was convinced that hard work and hustle were enough to succeed.
You put in the hours, keep your head down, and eventually, things fall into place, right?
Wrong.
That mindset kept me grinding but going nowhere fast.
The reality check?
The problem wasn’t my effort—it was my comfort zone.
I was so busy playing it safe, I didn’t realize I was standing still while everyone else was out there taking risks, making moves, and growing.
I had to flip the script from “just work harder” to “think bigger and get uncomfortable.”
It’s not about ignoring the struggle and pretending it doesn’t exist.
It’s about embracing it, learning from it, and using it as fuel to push beyond your limits.
I stopped asking myself, “How can I stay comfortable?” and started asking, “How can I get comfortable being uncomfortable?”
THAT’S when things really started to take off.
And here’s a question that changed my entire approach:
“What if?”
What if I took that leap instead of playing it safe?
What if I stopped worrying about failing and just went for it?
What if I reached out to someone I thought was way out of my league?
Those two little words became my secret weapon for breaking out of my comfort zone and aiming higher.
They forced me to stop hiding behind fake positivity and face the reality that my growth was tied directly to how uncomfortable I was willing to get.
For the longest time, I hesitated to reach out to big-name prospects in the industry.
I assumed they wouldn’t have time for someone like me—after all, I wasn’t exactly a household name.
But then I thought, What if I’m wrong?
I made the call, expecting to get shut down. Instead, it led to a partnership that completely changed the game for my business.
The lesson?
Limits are usually self-imposed.
It wasn’t the world holding me back—it was my mindset and my fear of stepping into the unknown.
Forget toxic positivity and the whole “just smile through the struggle” routine.
Real winners embrace the discomfort.
They push past their limits, face the fear head-on, and understand that true growth comes from challenging themselves daily.
If you’re still playing it safe, I want to challenge you this week:
Find that one thing that scares you and lean into it.
Ask yourself, “What’s one thing I’ve been avoiding because it feels too risky or uncomfortable?”
Identify it, and then do something about it.
Whether it’s making that call, setting that audacious goal, or reaching out to that impossible prospect—just do it.
Take one small step toward making it happen, and let that momentum build.
The payoff is on the other side of your comfort zone.
Until next time,
Amir
