My BIGGEST regret when I first started as an LO

Ask any Loan Officer about the biggest regret they had when they first started, and you’re gonna hear things like:

Not networking enough, not nurturing my connections, overlooking my networks, etc…

But I got my start in this industry as a telemarketer for a small mortgage brokerage where I was making over 10,000 cold calls (minimum)...

Being friendly and building relationships was the easy part.

Matter of fact, I quickly became the top telemarketer in the country.

I could say “hi, how are you?” in 20+ languages with near perfect annunciation to build hyper quick rapport in the first 30 seconds of every call.

But when it finally came time to be a Loan Officer and do the job, I wish I would’ve done this one thing sooner…

Systematize.

There’s something to be said about having a system for every scenario, and if you’ve been to any of my virtual masterclasses, then you know how much importance I place on that.

Now, I’ve got a system for just about anything. Like…

5-steps for effective Realtor engagement.

Leveraging cold out-reach.

Leveraging your closed database.

Annual mortgage reviews.

Leveraging financial advisors as huge referral sources.

How to run initial loan consultations to reduce rate shoppers.

Reverse engineering business goals.

Leveraging AI and social media to generate consistent homebuyer leads.

Buying back 20 hours of your week through a Loan Assistant…

As you can see, I’ve built quite the library.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean I wish I would’ve had these day 1 on the job…

That would mean time machines would have to be real.

I obviously have been able to build these from my years of experience…

I just mean I wish I would’ve started writing it down as soon as I cracked one.

Running a coaching program has really shown me how much I’ve grown as a professional because it’s forced me to reflect and document every step of my journey.

It’s shown me the power of having a robust system in place, not just for myself but for teaching others.

This is the foundation of my coaching philosophy now.

And it’s a foundation I encourage you to start building for yourself if you haven’t already.

But if you don’t feel like you’ve got any kind of refined processes or a strategy to streamline and you want in on that pot of gold…

You can always join us over here in the GO! Community.

And keep an eye out for all those free masterclasses I host.
