Don’t make me NICHE slap you

About a few months ago, I connected with an awesome, newly licensed Loan Officer who needed some advice on growing her business. 

After doing a little “disco dance” (asking discovery questions), I understood that she was a Registered Nurse for years before she became sick (no pun intended) of that job and wanted to become a Loan Officer. 

A major light bulb went off for me.

And to my astonishment, the “TAM” (Total Addressable Market) of Registered Nurses is about 5,200,000!

AND a 2023 State of Nursing survey revealed that 91% of Nurses believe that there is a major nursing shortage, which means that industry is ripe for growth. 

I then searched down payment grants for Nurses and realized that almost every state offered a program!

The opportunity for her to brand and market herself as THE go-to Loan Officer for Nurses is exciting. 

So, we brainstormed and discussed how she should create, at minimum, 3 homeownership education pieces of content weekly across all social platforms, directed to Nurses nationwide. 

I heard yesterday that she has now indeed been generating leads on social media. 

Imagine if she can just stay the course for a few years on this. 

Here are the 7 things you can do to achieve that as well:

  1. Pick a specific topic within your industry that you really enjoy
  2. Become an expert by learning about that topic every single day
  3. Engage with the experts who are further along than you
  4. Share your learnings & takeaways every day through the content you post
  5. Get your clients extraordinary results
  6. Share testimonials of those results
  7. Send 5 cold DMs to your target avatar daily 

& rinse and repeat. 

We’ve all heard the old saying: “jack of all trades, master of none.”

Nothing irks me more than the Loan Officer that specializes in everything from First Time Homebuyers to Reverse Mortgages to Commercial Multi-Family properties to Church Financing. 

I just wanna “niche” slap them. 

Here are your action steps for today:

Take those 7 steps and put them into play. 

Try this strategy for 2 weeks straight. 

 

And remember: your consistency is your character. 

Through your repetition, your reputation will build - be patient.
